Among everything that is currently playing on the radios around the world, this is certainly something exceptional that comes out of the ordinary. He found the balance between "cheesy" and "all fo' tha money" with LP's where the quality is evident in many tracks. Recently a quite interesting documentary about him was made, it's called " The Carter".

Souls of Mischief is a hip hop group from Oakland that is also part of the hip hop collective Hieroglyphics . The Souls of Mischief formed in 1991 and is composed of emcees-A, Tajai, Phesto and Opio. Cab fare was only available on Cassette. They couldnt clear the sample which was originally from "Bob James" - "Angela Theme". It was used for the opener of a US-Tv-Series. In 2001 they reprinted a bootleg on Vinyl and they included "Cabfare" also known as "Taxi" on "That's when ya lost" single instead “ I Ain´t trippin” a song from the original bootleg. Here it is "Souls of Mi/schief" with "Cabfare".

"Think Twice" (Henrik Schwarz Remix) (Preview)

Let’s just pause for one second; now, think about all that music that has so
enriched your life down the years. All of it, without fault, and regardless of any
strict genre definitions, is soul music.
If it flicks a switch deep inside you, speaks to you, comforts you and makes you
feel good about yourself, then that, my friend, is soul music. German DJ and producer Henrik Schwarz understands this musical truth more than most.A long-time aficionado of those musical forms that are commonly rooted in some appreciation of this sonic legacy - funk, house, disco, jazz, techno, and yes, the dictionary definition of soul (James Brown, Marvin Gaye, Motown etc, etc) - his adventures into hi-fi are testament to such a fact. And nowhere is this more readily apparent than on Schwarz’s latest venture: a much-deserved foray into that Holy Grail of DJ mix albums, !K7’s acclaimed DJ Kicks series.
